Rockinwithattitude, a daughter of the Muscle Hill horse and Aldebaran Park stallion Aldebaran Eagle, has been named as the Australian 2YO Trotting Filly of the Year for 2022.

During the season the bonny filly raced 14 times for nine wins and three placings and $130,000 in stakes. She won three races at Group level, including the Group 1 $100,000 Vicbred Super Series Final in a career-best 1:57.9, the Group 2 Tatlow Stakes and the Group 3 The Graeme Lang Trot, and finished runner-up in the Group 1 $100,000 Breeders Crown.

Congratulations to Rockinwithattitude’s big group of owners headed by Michelle Arnott and trainer-driver David Miles along with regular diver Jayden Barker.

Aldebaran Zeus (Muscle Hill USA-Zoia Boko Swe), the 2021 Australian 3YO Trotting Colt of the Year, notched his fourth Group 1 success and hoisted a new speed badge of 1:54.8 when he led throughout in the Group 1 $75,000 Aldebaran Park Maori Mile at Bendigo. He then finished a gallant second in the E. B. Cochran Cup at Ballarat.

Bred by Aldebaran Park, Aldebaran Zeus, now the winner of more than $310,000, is trained by Brent Lilley and is raced by Aldebaran Park, with lessees Tracey Cullen and Danny and Mel Thackeray.

Aldebaran Eagle was represented by a new winner in Aldebaran Tanisha (ex-Aldebaran Turnpike USA), a runaway winner by 18 metres at only her second start at Maryborough, having finished runner-up at her first start prior at Kilmore.

Resident sire Skyvalley sired five winners for the month including Golden Sunset (1:59.4, five wins), who annexed a heat of the Aldebaran Park Vicbred Platinum Mares’ Sprint Championship at Maryborough, Watch And Act (six wins), the three-year-old filly Kyvalley Amanda (1:58.9), who notched her maiden win at Kilmore, Flash Kyvalley (15 wins, $120,532) and the Gloucester Park winner Patched (1:59.5), who notched his 12th lifetime win and edged closer to the $100,000 mark in stake earnings.

Skyvalley also figured as the damsire of the recent double winner Just A Bit Touchy.

Other Aldebaran Park bred winners have been Savvy Kyvalley (ex Aldebaran Dream) and Kyvalley Helen (ex Aldebaran Revenue), while Aldebaran Belle and Aldebaran Alissa are owned and raced by the farm.

Aldebaran Bardot (Charly Du Noyer-Aldebaran Teal), a Swedish trotting mare bred and part-owned by Aldebaran Park in conjunction with the giant Swedish Stud Menhammar Stuteri AB, ran a creditable fourth on debut at Romme in central Sweden recently. The mare Aldbearn Teal has been imported to Australia and has a Who’s Who filly at foot and a positive test to resident stallion Dancinginthedark.

Dancinginthedark (2, 1:52.2; 3, 1:49.3), the fastest two-year-old trotter to come to Australia and the fourth fastest trotting stallion of all-time, ended the stud season with a solid mares booking list in his initial stud season. We look forward with anticipation to his foals arriving later in 2023.

Skyvalley continued his outstanding stud career and with consistent winners on the track he maintains his reputation as a stallion of value for the breeders.

Full details re Dancinginthedark and Skyvalley, brochures and booking forms can be found on the Aldebaran Park website (www.aldebaranpark.com) in the stallion section.

We are 'Hot to Trot' at Aldebaran Park.
