Aldebaran Park achieved a memorable milestone in June when it quinellaed a race in New Zealand for the first time.

The three-year-old filly Aldebaran Keepa (Kadabra – Another Love) and the four-year-old mare Aldebaran Flame (Trixton– Fire In The Night), both owned and raced on lease by Aldebaran Park and trained by Michelle Wallis and Bernie Hackett, ran 1-2 in a 1609-metre contest at Auckland’s Alexandra Park.

Aldebaran Keepa, who won her third race, was bred by Aldebaran Park and ranks as a half sister the NZ Oaks winner Aldebaran Floss.

Other winners bred by Aldebaran Park to win in June were the three-year-old Finn Runs Red (Trixton-Sundon’s Babe), who scored in 1:58.2 at Menangle, Hammer Son (Majestic Son Ca-Jingling Silver), a winner at Geelong, and Abbie (Majestic Son-Aldebaran Peggy), who was successful at Kilmore.

Aldebaran Park played a significant role in the trotters’ section of the Victorian Harness Racing Awards for 2021.

Aldebaran Park bred Aldebaran Zeus (Muscle Hill-Zoia Boko) was named the 3YO Colt/Gelding of the Year; Pink Galahs, a daughter of resident sire Skyvalley, was acclaimed as 4YO Mare of the Year; and Just A Bit Touchy (out of a Skyvalley mare) won the 2YO Filly of the Year Award.

Skyvalley's son Patched, an ex-Victorian, is taking Western Australia by storm. The gelding has won five of his last six attempts including four at Gloucester Park and the STWA Trotters Cup at Pinjarra and has clinched a firm claim for the title of the leading trotter in the west.

Other recent winners sired by Skyvalley have been Tennerson and Watch And Act, while he ranks as the damsire of the in-form Abbie.

Rockinwithattitude, a two-year-old filly by deceased sire Aldebaran Eagle, became her sire’s fourth individual winner from eight starters when she emerged successful at only her second start at Kilmore.

Aldebaran Eagle's frozen semen is only available to free returns in season 2022–2023 following amendments to Stallion Registration rules by HRA.

In Sweden, Maori Time’s colt born late May by Readly Express continues to thrive and we look forward with anticipation to his progress.

She has been bred to 2022 Elitloppet entrant Who’s Who (by Maharajah) and we await news of a positive result.

Her yearling colt – also by Readly Express – named Generally Speaking has been catalogued for auction at the Menhammar Online Auction to be held July 10.  The Auction can be viewed at www.menhammaronlinesales.se.  Our three-year-old filly Aldebaran Bardot continues her progress and it is expected she will be heading to the Qualifiers at Solvalla in August 2022.
