The Aldebaran Park bred and owned 4YO entire Aldebaran Zeus sent his stake earnings beyond the $250,000 plateau when he scored a convincing win in the Group 3 Aldebaran Park R C Freestone Trotters Free For All at Melton.

The bold striding four-year-old (T1:58.0, Muscle Hill-Zoia Boko), who is raced on lease by Aldebaran Park with Tracey Cullen and Melinda and Danny Thackeray, led from the outset and was never in danger of defeat, carving out the last 800 in 56.6 seconds and the final quarter in 27.6. The mile rate for the 2240 metres was 1:59.7.

The win took Aldebaran Zeus's earnings $252,680, the result of 14 wins and 13 placings from 33 starts.

The Group 1 Victorian Oaks winning filly Aldebaran Keepa (T3 1:56.6, Kadabra-Another Love) captured a heat of the Breeders Crown at Maryborough and finished a close third in the $80,000 Group 1 Final. She has now earned more than $100,000.

Aldebaran Keepa was one of five Breeders Crown finalists bred and raised at Aldebaran Park, the others being Aldebaran Vera, Aldebaran Demi, Aldebaran Miley and Aldebaran Jensen.

Rockinwithattitude, a two-year-old filly by Aldebaran Eagle and one of the second crop of the Muscle Hill horse, won a heat of the Aldebaran Park Breeders Crown at Maryborough and finished a brave, fighting second in the Group 1 $100,000 Final. Dichotomy (by Aldebaran Eagle) ran third.

Other Aldebaran Park bred winners in November were Aldebaran Misty (Skyvalley-Mason Magic), who won the Group 3 Breeders Crown Silver 3YO Trot at Bendigo, Aldebaran Tess (Muscle Hill-Solar Powered), who dead-heated in a new lifetime mark of 1:54.9 at Menangle, and Aldebaran Rocky (Eilean Donon-Aldebaran Crumpet).

In New Zealand – 2021 NZ 4yo Trotting Mare of the Year has succumbed to a race ending injury and will be sent to stud – with Timoko FR chosen as her suitor this season – we look forward with anticipation to her progeny.

In North America, the three-year-old filly Aldebaran Acrux (Chapter Seven-Model Behaviour) carried the flag for Aldebaran Park with a 1:57 triumph at Pocono Downs, Pennsylvania.

Skyvalley continues his stud duties and has also received solid patronage this season.
