A total of 38 individual vendors from five states are set to offer the progeny of 24 stallions at the 2021 Australian Pacing Gold Sale to be held at Oaklands Junction on Sunday, February 7.

Durham Park Standardbreds, of Bruce and Vicki Edward, Durham Lead, near Ballarat, has by far the largest draft with 17 including siblings to horses the calibre of the Derby winner Ideal For Real, the champion filly Petacular (pictured), Stars Align, Idyllic, Act Now, Beach Garden and Beyond Delight and close relatives to the top performers Heavens Trend, Elect To Live, Louvre, Miss Hazel, Hexus, My Double Dream and La Machane.

Neville Ismaili (H & N Superfund), Staffordshire Park (Michael and Faye Pangrazio), Cavalli Superiori (Ross Gange), John and Christine Yeomans’ Homestead Farm, Matt Craven, Heath Bourke and Ian Kitchin’s Macray Lodge are other Victorian vendors with three or more entries.

Ismaili is offering close relatives of Beautide, Out To Play, The Pantheist and Hes Magic Red, while Staffordshire Park’s six-strong draft includes a half-brother by Well Said to the WA Group winner Nathans Courage and yearlings from the family of APG Final winners Waranga Drive, Burling Game and Mindarie Priddy.

Heading the Cavalli Superiori consignment is a Downbytheseaside half-sister to the NZ Derby winner Border Control, a Bettor’s Delight half-brother to the Little Brown Jug winner and successful sire Big Bad John and A Rocknroll Dance half-brother to the Group 2 winner Mirragon.

The Homestead Farm draft includes an American Ideal filly from the Oaks winner Indigenous, a Bettor’s Delight filly out of Indigenous’s Group 1 winning daughter Life Inthefastlane and an American Ideal half-brother to the Vicbred 3YO champion Im Smouldering.

Western Districts horsemen Matt Craven and Heath Bourke are both offering three lots at the sale. Craven’s consignment includes two colts from the immediate family of the A. G. Hunter Cup winner Paris Affair, while Bourke has three Sweet Lou’s headed up by a half-brother to Rocknroll Eyes and the Charlton track record holder Bondi Lockdown.

Ian Kitchin, a long-time vendor at the Victorian sales, has three progeny of the Little Brown Jug winner Shadow Play in the sale including a close relative to the APG Final runner-up Smooth Franco.

Leading the strong bench of interstate vendors are Adam Cahill’s Cahillio Pty Ltd, Kerrie Hymers’ Tourello Standardbreds in northern Tasmania and Michael Taylor’s Trotters Australia with eight, seven and five lots respectively.

Numbered among Cahill’s offering are a Captaintreacherous half-sister to Sirletic, an American Ideal colt closely related to Miss Halfpenny, a Bettor’s Delight filly out of the Victoria Gold Chalice winner Sparkling Tachyon, a Captaintreacherous colt from the family of Follow The Stars and an Art Major colt closely related to Cyclone Kate.

Tourello’s draft includes an Always B Miki colt from the former 2YO of the Year Pelicanrama and A Rocknroll Dance sister-in-blood to Pow Wow Bromac, while Taylor’s offering is headed up by a Captaintreacherous half-brother to Darby Brights and Sea Hawke as well as two superbly bred Art Major fillies.
