Aldebaran Park had a red-letter month in May breeding the winners of no less than three Group races.

Brilliant three-year-old filly Aldebaran Ursula (T2 1.55.7 $78,980.00) and the talented mare Aldebaran Crescent (T 1.56.3 $98,590.00) kicked off the month in fine style winning important Group events at Menangle Park in New South Wales. Aldebaran Ursula, Australia’s fastest ever two-year-old trotter, took out the Group 2 $40,800 NSW Trotters Oaks, while Aldebaran Crescent captured the Group 3 $25,500 La Coocaracha in a new lifetime mark of 1:56.3. Aldebaran Ursula also placed 2nd in the Group 1 $40,800 New South Wales Trotters Derby.

A week later Aldebaran Misty (T2 1.59.3 $30,210.00), a homebred two-year-old filly by the Aldebaran Park flagship SKYVALLEY NZ, made it two wins from only three starts when she emerged successful in the Group 1 $50,000 Aldebaran Park Vicbred Platinum Home Grown Classic at Melton, leading from the outset, and carving out a 2:00.7 rate over 1720 metres.

Aldebaran Misty was one of six winners sired by SKYVALLEY NZ for the month.

SKYVALLEY NZ was represented by two ‘new’ three-year-old winners in The Sargent and Watch And Act, the Melton winner No Republic (9 wins T 1.59.3 $74,735.00), Ask No Questions, who won on debut at Bendigo, and the Globe Derby Park – South Australian three-year-old filly winner All That Glitters (4 wins).

The Aldebaran Park bred and raced and Group 1 placed Aldebaran Zeus (Muscle Hill USA – Zoia Boko Swe), one of last season’s top ranked two-year-olds, returned to the winning list at Maryborough in Victoria, while Aldebaran Flame (Trixton USA – Fire in The Night NZ) , a three-year-old filly part-owned by Aldebaran Park, notched her maiden success at Auckland, New Zealand.

To round out of a great month, Classy Spirit (5 wins), a five-year-old daughter of EILEAN DONON USA, won her fifth race at Tabcorp Park Melton.

Aldebaran Dexta (Aldebaran Deegan NZ), a 2yo son of the ill-fated imported stallion  Aldebaran Eagle USA – (Muscle Hill USA – Letsjustalkaboutme USA- T3 1.52.2 $240,926 USD) and the first of his progeny to grace the racetrack, has recorded 2 solid trial victories in South Australia. We look forward to him racing in the early 2yo races there in the coming months and proving that Aldebaran Eagle USA will be a sire in demand in this his last available season in 2021 / 2022.

We are “Hot to Trot” at Aldebaran Park.
